The Blythe Experience

Blythe’s 8th Anniversary “Fashion Obsession” Exhibition at Odaiba VenusFort! Dec.2009

Blythe’s 8th Anniversary “Fashion Obsession” Exhibition was held at Odaiba VenusFort from 29th August to 28th September 2009.

In the dream-like European atmosphere of VenusFort, 100 custom Blythe dolls modeled haute-couture created from the minds of fashion designers, artists and musicians. The exhibition opened beautifully with Blythe banners suspended throughout the entire area of VenusFort as if from the sky. There was even a Blythe doll in the same uniform as the VenusFort staff displayed at the information center. The exhibition took place in the Olive Plaza and Central Stairway on the second floor. We also had a temporary Blythe Shop.

About one hundred fashion brands and creators styled Blythe dolls according to fashion seasons, eras, and concepts. Each Blythe doll was completely coordinated from head to toe.

From the Central Stairway through to the Fountain Plaza, dolls by fashion brands and creators were displayed in protected cases underneath this year’s big iconic Blythe Banner. Each doll is one-of-a-kind, very detailed and have their own individual identity.
Those people who happened to come to VenusFort for shopping also stopped by and enjoyed the exhibition.

In the Olive Plaza past the Central Stairway was a section for the finalists’ dolls from Blythe 4th annual Beauty Contest 2009. The finalist’s dolls circled the grand prix winning doll, ‘Autumn in the Deep Forest’ by Nanairotentou, which won both the Miss Popularity 1st Prize and CEO of CWC Junko Wong’s selection.
It was a very successful 4th annual Blythe Beauty Contest. We are continually amazed by the evolving skills of the contestants and are eagerly looking forward to the next contest!

*This year's dolls, displayed at the anniversary event, "Fashion Obsession," will be auctioned in spring 2010. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to charity.

We also opened a temporary Blythe Shop next to the exhibition. Blythe items sold very well. Featured items included the latest Blythe doll, ‘Punkaholic People’, customized Blythe dolls, Blythe goods and artists’ handmade items. In the shop, a sticker machine was installed and there was also a doll-sized photo studio for fans to take pictures of their own Blythe dolls. Some customers made a lot of prints for souvenirs.

A lot of people entered the lottery to win CWC limited Neo Blythe doll, Prima Dolly London by collecting the QR codes, which were accumulated by purchasing over 500yen (tax included) at each of the following shops, Junie Moon, LeLe Junie Moon, Jeffrey Fulvimari Super Store and VenusFort Blythe Shop. 3 lucky people won ‘Prima Dolly London’. We’d like to thank all the customers who participated.

In addition, there were exclusive activities. 300 customers won cute Blythe goods by collecting stamps located in VenusFort. Selected restaurants offered a gift to the visitors who ordered the special ‘Blythe menu’. People enjoyed a set of the tasty sweets and drink at the café after their visit to the exhibition./p>

We appreciate all the customers who came to purchase the CWC limited dolls. Thank you very much.
