- Q. If you could tell us what each member in Precocious Candy does?
- There are two members.
I came up with the concept, styling, clothing and also the make up.
Yuko (mother) gave me advice on the make up.
- Q. What was it like to come up with the idea for "Mushroom"?
- When I saw the ad for the beauty contest I really wanted to be a part of it but i didn't really do anything at that time. I finished my exams for school and that was around December. I realized I had to start working on it as soon as possible, but I didn't have any ideas so I asked my mom for some advice and she told me to draw whatever I had in my mind. So I started drawing what I came up with was the "Queen of Hearts" and a mushroom. I was torn between these two ideas but I ended up choosing to make the mushroom idea. I started by making the dress and through a lot of trial and error I got the piece out the last minute before the deadline.
- Q. What was the hardest part?
- It was making her dress and doing her hair. I've only made one dress for her prior to making the mushroom dress and to be honest I didn't have much experience working with dolls, and wasn't experienced making the doll hairstyles. It was really hard to create the ideas I had on paper.
- Q. What made you the most happy?
- Its hard to say because there were so many things I was happy about. I think the first time was when I got the email saying I passed the first round. I read the email when I was just getting out of bed so i was a little bit confused but I did a double take and ran to my mom while she was on the phone pointing at my "Dolly Dolly" magazine, "I'm going to be in this magazine!" (laughs) Also being able to talk to all the finalists and having the opportunity to have people look at my work, being chosen, being invited to the final event and expanding my world make me so happy.
- Q. CWC's version of "Precocious Candy's Mush Room" is slightly different from your original doll. What kind of personality or charm do you think it has?
- First, its red hair, it's different from the original hair color so I think the impact is going to be different. I also think that the new hair color is a charming addition to the doll. There are also many different details that make her very charmingl! Her dress has many colorful mushrooms, including a mushroom house and a cat!
- Q. Would you like to say a message to all Blythe fans around the world?
- I would like to thank all the people that voted for Mush Room, encouraged me and talked to me, thank you so much! I'm going to try to be active with Blythe and I'll do the best I can.
- Q. Would you like to send a message to the contestants for this year's contest?
- I think if people make what they want to express and say to world, that is the best thing you can do! Clothes and hairstyles are important but I think the feeling behind the doll is the most important! The exciting feeling of wanting to make the cutest Blythe is very memorable and important. Good luck! I'm rooting for everybody!
- Q. Do you have any message for CWC?
- I want to thank you for looking after me for the past year. I want to thank Junko Wong, the production staff and everybody that were a part of "Precocious Candy's Mush Room". It was hard to balance school but I had so much fun everyday. Seeing people enjoy the doll made me so happy. Blythe makes me so happy everyday. Thank you very much! I'm going to keep working hard, I hope we keep working together in the future!
