The designer of Petite Blythe “Pure Punthic” is the Blythe customizing team, MIELE DOLCE, who won the ‘Miss Popularity’ prize at the 1st Blythe Beauty Contest in 2006. From 2007, they started participating in the annual charity fashion shows and ‘Variety Fair’ which is held regularly at Junie Moon. Five artists of MIELE DOLCE worked together on the concept of ‘Sweet Poison’. Although it was originally designed to be a dress-set for Neo Blythe, it became a Petite Blythe doll for the fans who love MIELE DOLCE’s cute and cool interpretations of Petite Blythe.

The leader, Mitsubachi, sent a proposal of the doll she wanted to make to artists who she often collaborated with to create the team for the 1st Beauty Contest together.
- Q: Why you decided to name a team as MIELE DOLCE? Is it related to Blythe dolls?
- We discussed the name together as a team.In Italian, MIELE means honey and DOLCE means sweets and dessert. We wanted to name after our leader Mitsubachi, which means, “honey,” in Japanese. The concept of the doll we created for the contest was white sweets.
- Q: When was the first encounter with Blythe dolls?
- Most of the members got to know her through the TV commercial of Parco.
- Q: Please let us know about your Blythe collection?
- Each member has a large collection. Some have over 100 Neo Blythe. Anyway, we live with a lot of them.
- Q: How do you play with Blythe dolls?
- Changing her clothes, traveling with her and taking pictures.
- Q: Do you have any favorite Neo and Petite Blythe in particular?
- Our favorite Neos are Adorable Aubrey, Happy Everyday, Mitten by Blythe. And our favorite PBL is Sweet Spell Scarlet.
- Q: What is the concept for Petite Blythe Pure Punthic? Tell us about the various points of the outfit and make-up.
- We wanted to achieve both cute and cool qualities. Her outfit is a combination of a cute gothic-like bustier and skirt, and cool-white rider’s jacket. It’s very intricate work and well-made. For the first time ever in Petite Blythe’s history, she features bold eye-liner and full lips. We love her distinctive character.
- Q: What does her name “Pure Punthic” stand for?
- We couldn’t come up with a good name, so we asked Junko for her idea and she gave us the name. Pure Punthic is a combination of the words: Pure, Punk and Gothic – so we can say this in the name: “Pure Punthic”
- Q: Please tell us about the background story for the manufacturing process.
- The first plan was to make a outfit for Neo Blythe, but the ideas changed a lot. In the end the plan was set to produce a Petite Blythe including a doll and a outfit. We had a lot of meetings and made a lot of samples.
- Q: What is your next challenge with Blythe dolls?
- We’d like to adopt various tastes in MIELE DOLCE’s Blythe style.

- Bythe is the team mate that MIELE DOLCE uses to achieve the feeling of cute and sweet poison.
