Q: Congratulations for winning the grand-prix of 3rd Blythe Beauty Contest “Petite Beauty” Category! Could you please introduce yourself?
I enjoy creative activities in general. These days I am making clothes for myself and dolls. Winning the contest became a very good opportunity to start creating fashion in a mysterious gothic world. I’d like to broaden my artistic creativity in a various ways.
Q: Tell us the story of when you submitted your work, “Secret Midnight Tea Party” to the Blythe Beauty Contest.
At first, I just wanted to share my thoughts and messages through Petite Blythe. The more I worked on it, the more I got totally absorbed in the story and I got obsessed with it. Finally, I even entered the fantasy myself. Then the work was concluded as you see. It has been my dream to participate in the Blythe Beauty Contest ever since I heard about it. Then I learned there was a category for Petite Blythe the year I entered. I decided to participate because I thought I would regret if I didn’t try. I had a few trial and errors, but I really enjoyed the challenge a lot.
Q: What was the hardest part in the manufacturing process after you won the contest?
To be honest, when I entered, I didn’t think that my work would actually become a product, so I was a little worried how it would turn out. The hardest thing was recreating the same atmosphere as the original on the commercial manufacturing scale. There were a great amount of trials, which were very tough for me. I am glad that it became a fantastic product in the end. I appreciate the cooperation of CWC very much because I could never achieve this on my own.
Q: What made you happy most through the production?
It was very moving to see the final sample for the first time. It was my dream came true!
Q: What is the appealing charm point in CWC Exclusive Petite Blythe, “Secret Midnight Tea Party”? What makes her distinct?
In the winning work, there were three dolls, which represent ‘enchanting glamour’, ‘girl’s aesthetics’ and ‘mysterious mind.’ I think the final product achieved the expression of all these elements in one doll. The Little Lodge represented by a cake became a fantastic packaging box, which creates the atmosphere of the Queen of Heart’s Tea Party so cutely. I would like people to enjoy reading the invitation card as well as the story written on the box.

Q: From this year, there are some changes in the Beauty Contest so that a lot more fans could enjoy participating in the popular vote and the exhibition itself. Would you like to give some messages to those who wish to join the contest next year? What do you think is the most valuable thing about participating in the contest?
The most important thing is to enjoy it. The experience is like being in a carnival where the contestants with their own special worlds and stories face each other. I like this unique special occasion a lot.
Q: Finally, what are Neo and Petite Blythe dolls for you?
Blythe is my best friend and also the only item I have to express my feelings and thoughts. Moreover she is a role model for me and she’s influenced and changed my life so much!
