Manga Girl Inspiration The 5th Annual Blythe Beauty Contest!

We are pleased to announce the 2010 5th Annual Blythe Beauty Contest call for entries is ready to begin! The contest will coincide with the Blythe 9th Anniversary Charity Exhibition held in June 2010. The theme of the contest is "Manga Girl Inspiration"! Please refer to the following rules and regulations for details.

Base Doll

Only CWC produced Takara Tomy Neo Blythe dolls can be submitted to this contest.

THEME

Stylize Blythe based on Super Heroine or Manga inspired fashion.
The doll does not need to represent character from Magna or animation, you are free to express your art based on the theme.
*Please do not violation other people's copyright but using the character's image illegally.

Who is eligible to enter

Employees of CWC Group, Hasbro, and Tomy Co. are not eligible to enter. Judges are not eligible to enter this competition. Contestants under that age of 18 at the time of entry must have written permission of their parent or guardian to enter.
Previous entrants who did not receive the "Grand Prix" prize may enter again.

Regulations

One team is allowed 1 to 5 members. Each person shall belong to one team, they shall not belong to multiple teams. Please supply all contact information including email address and telephone number of for each team member on the contest agreement.

[ Teamwork ]

  1. Please do not include the word "Blythe" in your team name.
  2. This is a chance for Blythe fans from around the world to show their skill at fashion design, hair styling, makeup, and customization for Neo Blythe.
  3. The team must include a short essay describing the theme and concept behind their design. The overall impact and coordination of the design must be cohesive.
  4. The only rules are: Blythe must remain a human, no entry will be selected that can be found offensive to any race, gender, religion or ideological platform, or infringes any other person's rights in any way. No gore or horror.
  5. The doll design and theme must be unique and original and created by the team members. If more than one team member is on a team, then a proxy agreement must be signed by the team members.

[ Display ]

  1. Your completed doll including accessories for display should be no larger than 33cm H x 28cm W x 28cm D.
  2. If your display dimensions exceed this size your doll will not be displayed.

How to Enter the contest

(1)Entry Form

Please complete the entire entry form and contest agreement.

(2)Contest Agreement

The representative for the team, "Team Leader" must read and sign the contest agreement. Please clearly fill out the form with printed block letters. Entries will only be accepted in English or Japanese. Please be sure to fill in all of the entry form fields.

(3)Co-Copyright Owners

Each entry may have up to 5 individuals working on entry as part of a team. If more than one team member is on a team or has been involved in creating the Designs, then all team members (with a maximum of 5) will need to sign the Contest Agreement as Co-copyright Owners thereby confirming their consent to be bound by the terms and conditions of the Contest.

(4)Photographs

Please send 6 photos of your entry:

  1. One 8 x 10 photographic print of a front, full body shot
  2. One 8 x 10 photographic print of a back, full back shot
  3. One 8 x 10 photographic print from the bust up
  4. Three additional 8x10 photographic prints of detail shots that emphasize the presentation of your doll.
    *If your team is chosen as a finalist we will use the front, full body shot of your doll for press and web announcements.
    *Please only send prints, we will not accept photos on CD or through email.

(5)Entry Fee

Please include the entry fee of $30.00 USD (outside of Japan) with your entry by including your credit card number on the form provided. If you are a resident of Japan please send 3,000 yen as a Genkin Kakitome Kozutsumi from the Japan Post Office to cover handling and processing of your entry.
Finalist dolls must be sent to the CWC offices by May 2009 (exact date to be announced). Shipping costs will be the responsibility of each team, details will be announced to finalists.

Jury Process

Up to 12 finalist teams will be selected and their doll will be exhibited during the Blythe 9th Anniversary Charity Exhibition at Omotesando Hills in June 2010. Jury process decisions are final and cannot be questioned by contestants. The Miss Popularity 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place winners will be decided by popular vote, and is also final.

Awards

The 12 finalists will be invited to the tea party hosted by CWC. They will also be invited to the private opening party for the 9th Anniversary Blythe Charity Exhibition! The opening party is available for only invited guests and press.

[ Miss Popularity ]

Miss Popularity will be selected by the public voting by Blythe fans at Blythe official PC site, mobile site and the event site.

Receive one 9th Anniversary Exclusive Neo Blythe doll for each team member, one trophy and a certificate.

◆2nd Runner-Up
Receive one 9th AnniversaryExclusive Petite Blythe doll for each team member, one trophy, and a certificate.

◆3rd Runner-Up
Receive one 9th AnniversaryExclusive Petite Blythe doll for each team member, one trophy, and a certificate.

[ Special Awards ]

◆CWC, Junko Wong's Choice
Receive one 9th AnniversaryExclusive Petite Blythe doll for each team member, one trophy, and a certificate. Also, the image of the winning doll will be used as a main visual for the 2011 Blythe Beauty Contest.

* CWC, Junko Wong's Choice will be selected from the 12 finalists.
* The winning doll will not be manufactured as a product, and thus there is no cash as a prize.
* There is a possibility that the winners will have interviewed by the doll-related magazines in Tokyo.

Charity Exhibition

The finalists will be displayed at the Blythe 8th Anniversary Charity Exhibition. We ask that the finalists consider donating their doll for the charity auction. While the charity is not a requirement, your participation is highly appreciated. A bare doll will be provided as a gratuity in exchange for your generous donation.

The dolls donated to charity will be photographed and published in the 2011 Blythe Anniversary Charity Exhibition catalogue, and will travel with the exhibition.
