Yatta, Yatta, Yatterman!
News of the production of a live-action adaption of the anime hit Yatterman was big in Japan.
Initially aired in Japan in 1977, Yatterman was the second episode in the Time Bokan anime TV series. 2 years and 108 episodes later it became a national hit with a record audience share of 28.4% and a popular cult vocabulary.
The story of how hero Gan-chan and his girlfriend Ai-chan unite as Yatterman No. 1 and No. 2 to pursue the evil Doronbo gang was exciting, humorous and intoxicating. Even after Yatterman went off the air in 1979 production of Yatterman goods continued to appeal to fans of all ages.
In 2008, almost 31 years after the begining of the first series, the television remake was overwhelming popular with both children and their parents alike.

Mechanic genius Gan-chan, son of a famous toy designer, completes Yatter-Wan, the dog-shaped all-terrain rescue robot of his father's dreams. Hearing the Doronbo Gangs evil plans he forms a fighting team with his girlfriend Ai and they transform themselves Yatterman No. 1 and 2 super heroes.
Sexy blond Doronjo, the leader of the the Doronbo Gang, leads her two henchmen Boyacky and Tonzra in search of 4 legendary Dokuro Stone pieces that are said to reveal the whereabouts of a huge gold deposit. The gang follows orders from their mysterious leader Dokurobe.
Competition intensifies when Archeology professor Kaeda, who already has 1 stone, leaves it with his daughter Shoko and goes missing after going to Norway in search of a second stone.
Shoko asks Gan-chan and Ai-chan to help her search for her father.
When Gan-chan and Ai-chan hear that the Doronbo Gang is headed to Egypt, where the professor was meant to have visited, they transform into Yatterman and speed to Egypt with Shoko and robot Omochama.
There they discover another Dokuro Stone in desert ruins and then the Doronbo Gang appears on it's latest mech Virgin Loader. After a furious battle Yatterman somehow manages to secure the stone. Due to heavy fighting the ruins collapse on them and in a magical moment Yatterman 1 rescues Doronjo, she falls in love. The others don't know what to think.
Now Yatterman has 2 Dokuro Stones but something odd begins to happening. Money begins disappears from banks, Tuesday disappears from calendars, mountains and bridges completely vanish! It seems the chaos has something to do with the Dokuro Stones. Together they seem to distort time and causing things to disappear.
What's going to happen when all 4 stones are together? Maybe the earth with vanish! What's going to become of Doronjos infatuation with Yatterman 1 ? Will the mysterious Dokurobei show who he really is?
